As a scientist myself I know how important it is to have your publication available online for everyone to take a look at. However at the same time it is important that you can also get hardcopy versions of that publication. Most publishers still do not agree with this position, therefore I simply solved the problem by becoming a publisher.
I just started my own firm. We publish books via (high-quality) printing on demand. This menas that there is no financial risc for either us or the author. We also fully encourage the use of Open Access. In light of this we will upload all our publications for example to Google Booksearch were the publications will be 100% viewable and most important: searchable! Besides that authors are free to upload their publications at any digital depository.
Our philosophy is that science should be freely accessable world-wide! But at the same time it is very nice to have that publication also available in print , both world-wide and in a unlimited number.
I'm terribly sorry If this message is interpreted as pure spam/commercial advertisement . However I thought you wanted to know about this. For more info you can visit www.sidestone.com
